Blair Mize is a master’s level Registered Dietitian who believes in a non-diet approach to eating that promotes health but doesn’t compromise the flavor or enjoyment of food. As a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, she is passionate about supporting her clients in fueling well and developing a healthy relationship with food and their bodies. Blair has an expansive knowledge of nutrition sciences, practical cooking, and sustainable health. Her areas of focus are disordered eating, sport nutrition, weight concerns, food allergies, medical nutrition therapy including diabetes management, and breastfeeding.
Blair gained valuable experience in medical nutrition therapy through her work with Methodist Healthcare’s Transplant Institute where she was responsible for formulating and implementing nutrition therapy and coordinating nutritional care for patients with kidney failure, end stageliver diseases, and diabetes. She later served as lead clinical dietitian at Methodist Olive Branch Hospital prior to entering private practice with Schilling Nutrition Therapy. Blair is now co-owner of Memphis Nutrition Group, LLC.
Blair serves as Nutrition Advisor to the Food Allergy Alliance of Memphis. She was a contributor to Binge Eating Disorder Association’s Weight Stigma Awareness Week 2015 and is a member of Sport, Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutrition (SCAN) and Nutrition Entrepreneurs (NE) Practice Groups of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Eating Disorder Coalition of Tennessee (EDCT) and recently served on the board of Memphis Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She is also a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC).
Blair’s energy and enthusiasm developed out of her own recovery journey toward a positive body image and self-acceptance. She uses the fuel from personal and professional experience to counsel others to live their lives for something that will outlast it instead of using time, energy, and mental space to struggle toward unrealistic standards often promoted in our society.
When she isn’t chasing her toddler or counseling, Blair enjoys writing, speaking, recipe development, and facilitating The Body Project.
